Okorocha Govt Planning To Blackmail Me – Imo Gov-Elect, Ihedioha (May 29)

The Governor-elect of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha has accused officials of the Governor Rochas Okorocha’s government of an attempts to blackmail him.

The chairman of the Governor-elect’s inauguration planning and handover committee, Chris Okewulonu said this at a press conference on Saturday in Owerri.

According to him, the outgoing governor, Rochas Okorocha and his officials have no longer assisted the committee towards ensuring an unbroken inauguration ceremony of Ihedioha.

He mentioned that rather there were deliberate attempts with the aid of a few hirelings of the kingdom authorities to blackmail the incoming governor with baseless and spurious assertions.

Okewulonu said, “In the route of our work, we met thrice with the outgoing government’s group, believing that problems agreed upon will be strictly adhered to in their implementation. But sadly, the reverse proved to be the case.

“Rather, we’ve taken notice of planned attempts by using some hirelings of the country government to blackmail the incoming governor with baseless and spurious assertions.

“In a final couple of weeks, the mass media have been awash that N150m become released with the aid of Governor Okorocha to the incoming governor to assist in the inauguration making plans workout.

“Let me restate for emphasis that no such money changed into ever released to this committee or to anyone else who’s part of the incoming government of Emeka Ihedioha.

“We have not also acquired any shape of help in any way from them.

“We are certainly piqued at futile attempts through a few busybodies to take undeserved glory for the splendid achievements, the incoming governor has recorded even before assumption of office.”
